Job summary

Indiana University Health in Fishers, IN is seeking a Full-Time Facilities Maintenance Technician to support hospital operations on the day shift. You will perform preventive maintenance, respond to calls, and troubleshoot electrical, plumbing, air, and fire system components in a healthcare environment.

You will also train colleagues, coordinate with other departments, and ensure compliance with relevant codes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• May require a valid Indiana driver’s license with proof of insurance.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical secondary systems, plumbing, fire system devices, and air systems.
• Ability to read and interpret information from complex blueprints, schematics and diagrams.
• Knowledge of healthcare building codes, OSHA, Life Safety and Joint Commission regulations.
• Advanced knowledge in using specialized tools.
• Basic computer skills.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs scheduled and non-scheduled preventive maintenance, responding to dispatched general maintenance calls, and troubleshooting/repairing secondary utility systems of buildings, plumbing, air-conditioning, electrical and air systems.
• Maintains, repairs and inspects specialized machinery and equipment in accordance with code and regulatory requirements.
• Recommends improvements and corrections to facilities equipment/systems that meet patient care needs through appropriate channels.
• Coordinates functions with other services and departments.
• Trains colleagues on various skills and tasks.
• Acts as a resource or mentor to colleagues and provides general leadership to the team.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Primary Responsibilities

Performs scheduled and non-scheduled preventive maintenance, responding to dispatched general maintenance calls, and troubleshooting/repairing secondary utility systems of buildings, plumbing, air-conditioning, electrical and air systems. Maintains, repairs and inspects specialized machinery and equipment in accordance with code and regulatory requirements. Recommends through the appropriate channels any improvements and corrections to the facilities equipment and/or systems that meet overall patient care needs. Coordinates functions with other services and departments. Trains colleagues on various skills and tasks. Acts as a resource or mentor to colleagues and provides general leadership to the team. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Candidate Requirements
