Maintenance Technician Greendale, Indiana

Large Manufacturing company in Greendale IN is looking for maintenance technicians for 2nd shift. This is a union plant.
Starting rate is between $33 Hourly depending on experience.
Higher rate would most likely require both mechanical and electrical experience.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Report problems with the FSMS to responsible managerial employees to initiate corrective actions.
- Ability to perform a complete line changeover, including the filler, seamer, crowner, cappers, etc., and adjust all equipment to specified tolerances without instruction.
- Able to troubleshoot machinery for malfunctions (electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, & pneumatic) without instructions.
- Able to perform preventive and repair maintenance on all line and processing machinery without instructions to include lubrication, and heat/vibration analysis.
- Able to perform maintenance on all production supporting equipment (i.e. glycol system, RO system, Compressed Air system, lubrication systems, chemical distribution systems) without instructions.
- Able to use both the lathe and the mill to perform parts machining to specified tolerances without instruction.
- Able to weld (Arc, TiG, and MiG) as required.
- Able to troubleshoot parameter issues within a PLC not to include PLC programming.
- Able to think outside the box when troubleshooting equipment in order to minimize production downtime, assure food safety, product quality and personnel safety.
- Complete, document, and retrieve final approvals on all assigned work orders to include recording all utilized part numbers for inventory purposes.
- Communicate effectively and completely all relevant maintenance and production related information from shift to relieving shift.
- Minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
- Assist in training other maintenance personnel.
- Communicate with production during periods of downtime.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must follow safety guidelines.
- Maintain proper GMPs.
- Must maintain adherence to Food Safety procedures and principles.
- Stop any production which may be questionable in terms of Food Safety and immediately alert a member of the management team.
- Must remain on production line as assigned until otherwise relieved, reassigned or on break.
- Must maintain an orderly work area and work shop/parts room at all times, cleaning up all scrap material.
- Project work as assigned by supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
- Knowledge of GMPs.
- Understanding of Food Safety Requirements.
- Must be able to read, understand, and work with machinery blueprints and parts manuals.
- Must be able to weld (Arc, TiG, MiG) proficiently.
- Minimum 5 years previous maintenance experience in manufacturing required.
- Work without supervision.
- Good decision making/problem solving skills.
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Must pass forklift certification program.
- Must provide hand tools.
- Must know how to operate electrical shop tools.
- Must be able to perform electrical wiring; single and 3 phase.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs occasionally.
- Must be able to stand during entire shift.
- Must be able to withstand temperatures below 40 degrees F and above 95 degrees F.
- Must be able to bend/stoop frequently.
- Must be able to reach above shoulders occasionally.
- Must be able to push/pull up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to work at all heights.
