Job description

Job Title: Electronics Technicians Maintenance I

Vertex is seeking Electronics Technicians Maintenance I to perform radar transmitter duties on the Cobra Dane radar system located at Shemya, Alaska. This is a remote assignment with an 8-week on-island rotation and 5 weeks off.

The role involves applying basic and advanced technical knowledge to troubleshoot and repair transmitter systems, interpreting manuals and technical orders, and maintaining various radar components. Work is conducted under supervision with technical guidance as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain transmitter control consoles
• Maintain array face antenna elements and associated equipment
• Repair receiver protectors, Low Noise Amplifier Assemblies, and monopulse comparators
• Maintain transmitter beamforming networks, TWTs, power supplies, radar modulators, and pulse circuits
• Perform RF measurements and maintain maintenance records
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Valid DOD Secret clearance
• Two years of maintenance experience with high-power radar transmitters and microwave systems
• Ability to troubleshoot analog and digital circuitry and microwave components
• Experience with data analysis to improve radar performance
• Proficiency with electronic test equipment and interpreting electrical schematics
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Good communication skills and understanding of electrical safety procedures

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with USAF technical Orders and quality control
• Familiarity with government security requirements
• Quality assurance training

Education:

• High school diploma and two years of technical electronics training or equivalent experience

Pay Rate:

$42.21 per hour
