Job summary

DoubleTree Raleigh is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure all hotel facilities, rooms, and amenities operate at peak performance. You will resolve in-room issues, maintain HVAC and lighting, and support a safe, welcoming environment that boosts guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.

You will perform routine upkeep across hotel spaces, respond to guest requests, and coordinate with Front Desk and Chief Engineer. A high school diploma and technical maintenance training are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of hands-on maintenance in a hotel or similar environment.
• Ability to perform routine painting, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC tasks.
• Capability to program hotel systems and monitor utility readings.

Responsibilities

• Maintain hotel, pool, and surrounding area with minor repairs using hand tools.
• Notify management for major repairs or equipment upgrades.
• Respond to guest service requests and keep records of completed rooms.
• Program and maintain hotel phone equipment as needed.
• Observe daily equipment readings and stay in contact with Front Desk.

The Maintenance Technician will directly impact the guest experience by ensuring that all physical aspects of the hotel—rooms, amenities, and facilities—are operating at peak performance. How You’ll Shape The Experience & Future

• Maintain hotel, pool, and surrounding area, performing minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, HVAC functions, and other related maintenance activities, using hand tools.
• Notify management concerning need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.
• Respond to guest requests for service according to company policy. Keep records of rooms completed.
• Program phone equipment according to hotel needs.
• Observe equipment and utility meter readings on a daily basis.
• Stay accessible to Front Desk and Chief Engineer.
• Maintain files of Material Safety Data Sheets.
• Ensure par stocking of regularly used parts and supplies.
• Learn emergency procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Professional Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of hands‑on maintenance or repair experience in a hotel, commercial building, or similar environment.

Experience With

• Routine upkeep of hotel facilities, pool areas, and public spaces.
• Monitoring daily equipment operations and utility meter readings.
• Programming and maintaining hotel systems.
• Managing small inventories of tools and maintenance parts.
• Documenting completed repairs and guest service tasks.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical training or coursework in general maintenance, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or related fields is a plus.
