Job summary

HM Alpha Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep hotel facilities, rooms, pool areas and public spaces in peak condition. You’ll perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, plumbing, painting and related tasks with a hands-on approach to ensure a safe, comfortable guest experience.

Requirements include a minimum of 1 year of hands-on maintenance in a hotel or similar setting, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to pass a background check.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of hands-on maintenance or repair experience in hotels or similar facilities.
• Technical training in maintenance, HVAC, electrical or plumbing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain hotel facilities, pool and surrounding areas, performing routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, HVAC and other maintenance tasks.
• Notify management about major repairs or additions to lighting, heating and ventilating equipment.
• Respond to guest service requests per policy and keep records of rooms completed.
• Program phone equipment according to hotel needs.
• Observe equipment and utility meter readings daily.
• Stay accessible to Front Desk and Chief Engineer.
• Maintain files of Material Safety Data Sheets.
• Ensure par stocking of regularly used parts and supplies.
• Learn emergency procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

How You’ll Shape The Experience & Future

• Maintain hotel, pool, and surrounding area, performing minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, HVAC functions, and other related maintenance activities, using hand tools.
• Notify management concerning need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.
• Respond to guest requests for service according to company policy. Keep records of rooms completed.

Professional Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of hands-on maintenance or repair experience in a hotel, commercial building, or similar environment.

Experience With

• Routine upkeep of hotel facilities, pool areas, and public spaces.
• Monitoring daily equipment operations and utility meter readings.
• Programming and maintaining hotel systems.
• Managing small inventories of tools and maintenance parts.
• Documenting completed repairs and guest service tasks.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical training or coursework in general maintenance, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or related fields is a plus.
