The City of Conroe is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to perform labor-intensive work on streets and drainage systems, and to assist the operator as needed. This role requires on-call responsiveness and availability for emergency responses at any hour.
You must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and obtain a Texas Class A CDL within six months of hire. Lifting up to 100 pounds with assistance is required. Safety gear and after-hours training may be needed.
THIS POSITION IS ASSIGNED TO THE CITY OF CONROE STREETS DEPARTMENT
The Maintenance Technician I performs ordinary, labor-intensive tasks commonly related to streets and drainage construction and maintenance. Also assists operator in any way necessary to complete the job. Must be able to work on-call duty. Must be available to respond at any hour during an emergency when requested.
Shovels, pickaxes, various hand tools, air tools, boring tools, pumps, metal detectors, line locators, I-PAD.
Ear and eye protection, boots, gloves, as well as any other safety equipment.
The work is heavy and requires the ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motions, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity, and walking.
