Job summary

Kelly Services in partnership with a growing manufacturing company seeks an entry-level Industrial Maintenance Mechanic in Charlotte, NC. This temp-to-hire role involves assisting with repairs, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance to keep production equipment running smoothly.

Hours are 2:30 pm to 10:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with a pay rate of $30.90 per hour. The position offers opportunities to learn, grow, and transfer to permanent status with our client after a short contract.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in Industrial Maintenance or related field is a plus.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand and power tools.
• Ability to follow instructions and work cooperatively in a team.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts and overtime as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including standing, bending, and climbing ladders.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair industrial machines and equipment (conveyors, motors, pumps, production lines).
• Perform basic preventive maintenance including lubrication, cleaning, and inspection of components.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues under guidance of senior maintenance staff.
• Replace or repair worn parts such as belts, bearings, and gears.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment as directed.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Follow safety policies and keep a clean, safe work environment.
• Support installation and assembly of new equipment as needed.
• Communicate equipment issues or safety concerns promptly.
• Participate in training and skill development.
