Job summary

North Carolina Department of Adult Correction seeks a Plumber II (S) at Southern Correctional Institution to install, maintain, alter, and repair plumbing systems at the journey level. Reporting to the Maintenance/Construction Supervisor III, you will supervise semi-skilled offenders and prepare material lists for projects while ensuring compliance with codes and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and two years of experience in the repair, replacement, or construction of piping systems.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Working knowledge of the methods of installation and repair of plumbing systems.
• May require licensure by the governing board or commission.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, alter, and repair plumbing systems at the journey level.
• Supervise semi-skilled male offenders and participate in emergency call backs.
• Make material lists for projects and submit to supervisor for review.
• Adhere to building, life, and safety codes.
