Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to repair and maintain material-handling equipment at our facility. You will perform electrical installations, diagnose issues, and execute preventive maintenance to ensure safe, reliable operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1+ years in industrial maintenance or 4 years in related field.
• Vocational Diploma or associate's degree in maintenance is a plus.
• Ability to work in a team with all levels and interact with contractors.
• Ability to operate forklift, genie lift or scissor lift.
• Ability to read and follow work orders, instructions and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Manage repair of MHE, monitor and trend, troubleshoot and repair.
• Install and repair electrical and lighting issues, dock doors and plates.
• Perform preventive maintenance per manufacturer guidelines and timelines.
• Log time and materials into the CMMS system.
• Interpret plans, schematics and maintenance manuals.
