Job summary

StoryPoint of Naperville is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform general maintenance and repair duties across our apartment community. The role requires hands-on work with HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and appliances, in addition to basic drywall and painting tasks.

You will collaborate with multiple teams, adhere to safety standards, and support residents with a positive attitude. Weekend/holiday shifts and outdoor work in varied weather are part of the duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficient in apartment maintenance including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, structural and appliance repair.
• Drywall repairs and painting experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondences.
• Must be able to work weekends/holidays and extended hours outdoors in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Operates various types of tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other team members.
• Identifies and reports broken equipment or uncertain conditions to the supervisor.
• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and safe condition per safety regulations.
• Performs preventative maintenance on machinery and the building or grounds as required.
• Maintains a positive Customer Service attitude in interactions with staff and residents.
