Overview
Maintenance Technician III at MITER Brands, Tacoma, WA. Shift: Grave (10:00 PM – 6:30 AM) with overtime and occasional weekend work. Wage Band: $36.00–$45.00 per hour DOE.
What You’ll Do
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial manufacturing equipment, including motors, AC drives, PLCs, servos, sensors, switches, and pneumatic systems.
- Diagnose equipment issues and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to maximize equipment reliability.
- Conduct root cause analysis and develop long-term corrective actions to prevent recurring failures.
- Document maintenance activities and work orders using CMMS software (FiiX CMMS or similar).
- Partner with production teams to improve equipment performance, quality, and operational efficiency.
- Perform fabrication, welding, and modification work as needed.
- Support facility maintenance, utilities, and grounds upkeep.
- Maintain a safe work environment and consistently follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
What You’ll Bring
- 6+ years of maintenance experience, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Experience using diagnostic equipment such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, and related testing tools.
- Strong understanding of preventive maintenance practices.
- Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), such as FiiX or other MRO platforms.
- Ability to safely lift 50 pounds independently and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and willingness to learn new technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical certification, trade school training, or equivalent education.
- Experience with PLCs, servo systems, automation controls, welding, fabrication, and machining.
- Background in continuous improvement and root cause analysis methodologies.
