Large Food Manufacturing plant is looking for a strong and stable maintenance technician in St. Joseph MO.
Looking for someone with experience wiring motors, working up to 480 V, welding, hydraulics, pneumatics.
Work Schedule: Mon‑Thurs 5 pm — 3:30 am
Pay: $25.26
Job Description
Company is seeking a motivated individual to perform a variety of tasks in any number of areas in the operation, including installation, setup, maintenance and repair of plant equipment and ammonia refrigeration system in the processing of raw materials for the pet food, pharmaceutical and feed industries.
Responsibilities
- Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance on production machines, following diagrams, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, using measuring and testing instruments.
- Maintains equipment, parts, and supply inventories by checking stock to determine inventory levels, anticipating needs, placing and expediting orders, and verifying receipt.
- Maintains all shop, engine rooms, and work areas in a clean, safe, and orderly fashion.
- Completes all assigned work orders in a timely manner.
- Assists in updating the PSM & PM programs.
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, and establishing personal networks.
- Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Adheres to safety guidelines and wears all required PPE.
- Adheres to attendance guidelines of the company at the assigned work location.
- Maintains tools and equipment in good working order and stores them properly.
- Performs daily rounds.
- Reports any hazards to management.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Vocational Technical school education.
- 1‑3 years of experience and/or equivalent experience and education.
- Experience in welding, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, ammonia refrigeration, and some building maintenance.
- Experience in the meat processing industry is desired but not required.
