Job summary

The Pearl of Joliet is seeking a Maintenance Technician to lead a team of long-term care professionals in Joliet, IL. The role focuses on maintaining building systems, ensuring safe and welcoming facilities for residents and staff, and supporting daily operations.

The successful candidate will perform routine maintenance, identify repairs, and collaborate with facility staff to keep patient areas, offices, and common spaces clean and well-maintained.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior maintenance technician experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.
• Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs at facilities.
• Performs general repairs. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
• Performs routine maintenance on building systems including lighting, flooring, plumbing, painting.
• Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
• Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
• Utilizes supplies and equipment properly without waste.
• Performs emergency housekeeping.
• Works jointly with facility maintenance/housekeeping staff to service floors, all patient rooms, baths, lounges, nurses stations, and offices as assigned.
• Vacuums and shampoos carpeting and rugs.
