Job summary

The Durham Housing Authority is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance operations for assigned residential communities. You will supervise Maintenance Technicians and Site Laborers, coordinate repairs, and ensure timely completion of work orders while maintaining safe, quality housing for DHA residents.

You will develop staff through training and feedback, manage the Preventative Maintenance Plan, and respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required with 5 years of building or apartment maintenance experience including installation of appliances, basic electrical, HVAC & plumbing diagnostics/repairs.
2 years of supervisory experience in maintenance with budgetary responsibilities and scheduling.
Proven ability to supervise staff, coordinate work orders, and ensure timely completion in a housing environment.

Responsibilities

Supervise maintenance staff and participate in interviews and hiring decisions.
Generate and close work orders; ensure non-emergency work orders are completed within 30 days and emergencies within 24 hours.
Oversee preventive maintenance and cyclical tasks per the PM plan; participate in emergency call-back program.
Ensure safety compliance and maintain quality housing for DHA residents.
