Job summary

Brookdale in Durham, NC is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the community’s maintenance, housekeeping and laundry staff, ensuring safety, cleanliness and operational standards. You will hire, train and evaluate staff and manage HVAC, elevator, fire and sprinkler systems, and building equipment.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED and 2–3 years of related experience, with a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 2–3 years related experience or equivalent.
• Valid State Driver’s License required for vehicle travel.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize work.

Responsibilities

• Supervises maintenance, housekeeping and laundry staff, including hiring and evaluating performance.
• Directs upkeep of interior and exterior areas and inspects work for standards compliance.
• Oversees scheduled maintenance on HVAC, elevators, fire and sprinkler systems, generators and landscape.
• Coordinates resident maintenance requests including plumbing, electrical and lighting needs.
• Ensures common areas are well maintained and coordinates safety with inspectors.
• Responds to resident or community emergencies as needed.
