Job summary

Greystar is hiring a Maintenance Technician to oversee and perform technical and mechanical work ensuring the community meets Greystar standards for cleanliness, safety, and functionality. The role covers make-ready tasks, routine maintenance, and vendor coordination.

The position requires hands-on experience with tools, strong customer service, and the ability to work flexible hours including on-call shifts. Location is Charlotte, NC, in a garden community with 320 units.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or related experience and training.
• Experience in property management maintenance, other building maintenance, or related trade.
• Incumbents must provide own hand tools unless prohibited by State law and must be knowledgeable and skilled in the safe use and maintenance of hand tools, power tools, user-moved aids, mechanical equipment and measuring devices.
• Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define and correct problems.
• Proficiency in customer service and interpersonal communication skills to interact with residents, team members, and other contacts.

Responsibilities

• Assists and completes work orders from resident requests and routine upkeep.
• Oversees and completes the make-ready process for vacant units and coordinates vendors.
• Develops standards for cleanliness and appearance of grounds, buildings, and common areas to reflect Greystar standards.
• Inspects work by team members and contractors to ensure quality and compliance.
• Maintains inventory of spare parts and orders supplies to stay within budget.
• Performs monthly preventative maintenance procedures and supports budget development.
• Promotes safety by conducting meetings and ensuring OSHA compliance.
