Description

The Maintenance Supervisor 4 manages, supervises, and oversees maintenance, repair, renovation, and construction for assigned facilities, including utility, mechanical systems, buildings, and grounds. The role requires skilled and semiskilled work, with significant technical independence. Incumbents are considered essential personnel.

As the top maintenance supervisor at a DMNA location, responsibilities include managing a large, diverse maintenance program with a sizable staff across various trades. The MS4 will perform journey-level work, supervise staff, recommend projects, and coordinate with contractors. The role involves planning, budgeting, inspecting facilities, managing work orders, and ensuring compliance with standards and policies.

Responsibilities include:

• Supervising maintenance staff and providing technical direction
• Inspecting facilities and grounds, recommending maintenance projects
• Assisting with budget preparation and oversight
• Overseeing procurement and work order programs
• Performing grounds maintenance and general repair tasks
• Supervising personnel matters and ensuring compliance with policies
• Utilizing computer systems and software for operations
• Participating in meetings and training
• Performing supervisory duties at assigned and other facilities as needed
• Traveling to other facilities and attending training

Job Requirements

• Knowledge of personnel policies, codes, HVAC systems, and supervision principles
• Proficiency with MS Office and database management
• Ability to interpret plans, blueprints, and specifications
• Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting, working at heights, and in confined spaces
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate vehicles
• English literacy and communication skills
• Reliability and trustworthiness

Minimum Qualifications

• One year of full-time state service at SG-19 or higher in facilities or supervisory roles, OR
• Two years of state service at SG-14 or higher with supervisory responsibility, OR
• Two years supervising a large physical plant with at least 15 subordinates, plus one additional year in a second supervisory role, OR
• Associate degree or higher with relevant experience and supervisory responsibility

Additional requirements include age, education, physical ability, valid driver’s license, and computer proficiency. Must pass background checks and obtain necessary clearances.
