Your Impact in This Role
As a Maintenance Supervisor, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and conveyor systems
- Ensure maintenance work orders are accurate, prioritized, and properly closed in SAP
- Manage the plant preventive maintenance program
- Function as hands‑on lead mechanic to troubleshoot and repair equipment
- Perform basic electrical troubleshooting skills
- Train plant personnel to perform basic maintenance
- Perform periodic preventive maintenance checks as required
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
- Lead and coordinate internal technicians and third‑party contractors
- Plan, schedule, and execute preventive & corrective maintenance
- Step in and support critical or high‑impact maintenance activities
- Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to reduce downtime and improve efficiency
- Enforce Sibelco’s safety standards and lifesaving rules
- Lead safe work practices including LOTO, LMRA, and SOP compliance
Responsibilities
Maintenance
- Coordinate and supervise internal and external technicians with the maintenance activities on site.
- Support the planner in the preparation of the maintenance activities.
- Give pro‑actively support in case of difficult activities and/or problems.
- Follow up maintenance activities and adjust where necessary.
- Coordinate 3rd party services according to Sibelco technical and safety standards.
- Create correct maintenance work orders according to Sibelco rules and standards.
- Follow up and execute maintenance plan for preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
- Perform gatekeeping on maintenance notifications and manage them with the correct priority.
- Review maintenance jobs and close the work orders with correct after‑care.
- Continuously communicate with production operators, supervisors and engineers to ensure maintenance activities are performed according to planning.
- Coordinate and support emergency regime.
Operational Excellence
- Actively participate in the daily performance dialogue and problem solving events.
- Maintain and/or improve and/or expand the technical installations to prevent failures and breakdowns and to optimize the availability and capacity of the installations.
- Repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and/or hydraulic malfunctions and implement.
- Execution of maintenance plan by Sibelco systems and standards.
- Register and control information in the system to analyze and meet the predefined KPI’s.
- Promote the performance dialogue in the team (using the appropriate KPI’s).
- Ensure contractors are meeting SLA’s and KPI’s and manage co‑employment issues.
- Execute and support RCA to analyze and minimize machine downtime.
- Organize and follow up maintenance activities and procedures to apply 5S concept on site.
Continuous Improvement
- Continuously drive and execute maintenance process improvements through a robust performance review and feedback loop to planner, scheduler and reliability engineer.
- Identify and repair or replace ‘problem equipment’ in collaboration with production and the reliability engineer.
- Participate and promote the use of problem Solving techniques to eliminate breakdowns.
Safety
- Ensure necessary actions, including any administration, are taken to allow the installations to be used and maintained in a safe manner according to Sibelco safety rules and standards.
- Execute LMRA and ensure the maintenance team performs their activities in a safe and healthy way according the Sibelco lifesaving rules.
- Perform process confirmations on use of safety procedures and measurements as LOTO, LMRA, SOP’s.
- Organize or support safety improvements in collaboration with other departments or safety teams.
People Management
- Motivate and evaluate the team members to enhance team collaboration and support their individual development and growth.
- Ensure appropriate skill and capability mix of technicians across the maintenance function.
- Assess the maintenance staff competency level in comparison with the site requirements.
- Coaching and developing maintenance personnel, holding them accountable for delivery of results and supporting mutually agreed development needs.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Strong experience in industrial maintenance environments
- Hands‑on experience with conveyor systems
- Experience using SAP for maintenance planning and work order management
- Welding and fabrication experience
- High school diploma, or equivalent, required
- Technical degree in mechanical, electrical, or related field (or equivalent experience) preferred
- 2–5 years of maintenance experience required
- Good communications skills
- Basic electrical maintenance skills required, 480V AC/3/60A plus
- Computer skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Self‑starter who can succeed with limited supervision
- Detail oriented with proven problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work in a dusty environment
