Job summary

Sibelco is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to lead daily maintenance activities in a 24/7 production environment. You will coordinate technicians, troubleshoot complex systems, and drive safety and continuous improvement across the site.

Responsibilities include coordinating work orders in SAP, managing preventive maintenance, and leading root-cause analyses to reduce downtime while ensuring adherence to safety standards.

Job Description

We’re looking for a hands‑on Industrial Maintenance Supervisor who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and can lead teams, solve problems, and keep operations running at peak performance. In a 24/7 production environment, the Supervisor will coordinate daily maintenance activities ensuring service levels, optimizing machine availability, and driving safety and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and conveyor systems.
  • Ensure maintenance work orders are accurate, prioritised, and properly closed in SAP.
  • Manage the plant preventive maintenance programme.
  • Act as hands‑on lead mechanic to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Perform basic electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Train plant personnel to perform basic maintenance.
  • Conduct periodic preventive maintenance checks as required.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead and coordinate internal technicians and third‑party contractors.
  • Plan, schedule, and execute preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Support critical or high‑impact maintenance activities.
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
  • Enforce Sibelco’s safety standards and lifesaving rules.
  • Lead safe work practices including LOTO, LMRA, and SOP compliance.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and supervise internal and external technicians with the maintenance activities on site.
  • Support the planner in the preparation of the maintenance activities.
  • Provide proactive support in case of difficult activities and/or problems.
  • Follow up maintenance activities and adjust where necessary.
  • Coordinate third‑party services according to Sibelco technical and safety standards.
  • Create correct maintenance work orders according to Sibelco rules and standards.
  • Follow up and execute maintenance plan for preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
  • Perform gatekeeping on maintenance notifications and manage them with the correct priority.
  • Review maintenance jobs and close the work orders with correct aftercare.
  • Continuously communicate with production operators, supervisors and engineers to ensure maintenance activities are performed according to planning.
  • Coordinate and support emergency regime.
  • Actively participate in the daily performance dialogue and problem solving events.
  • Execute maintenance activities in the site according to Sibelco’s operational excellence and safety principles to contribute to the Sibelco’s continuous improvement culture.
  • Maintain, improve or expand technical installations to prevent failures and breakdowns and to optimise availability and capacity.
  • Repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and/or hydraulic malfunctions.
  • Implement execution of maintenance plan by Sibelco systems and standards.
  • Register and control information in the system to analyse and meet predefined KPIs.
  • Promote performance dialogue in the team (using the appropriate KPIs).
  • Ensure contractors meet SLA’s and KPI’s and manage co‑employment issues.
  • Execute and support RCA to analyse and minimise machine downtime.
  • Organise and follow up maintenance activities and procedures to apply 5S on site.
  • Drive and execute maintenance process improvements through a robust performance review and feedback loop to planner, scheduler and reliability engineer.
  • Identify and repair or replace ‘problem equipment’ in collaboration with production and reliability engineer.
  • Use problem‑solving techniques to eliminate breakdowns.
  • Perform LMRA and ensure the maintenance team performs activities safely and healthily according to Sibelco lifesaving rules.
  • Execute process confirmations on use of safety procedures and measurements such as LOTO, LMRA, SOP’s.
  • Organise or support safety improvements in collaboration with other departments or safety teams.
  • Motivate and evaluate team members to enhance collaboration and support their development.
  • Ensure appropriate skill and capability mix of technicians across the maintenance function.
  • Assess maintenance staff competency level against site requirements.
  • Coaching and developing maintenance personnel, holding them accountable for results and supporting agreed development needs.
  • Develop good working relationships with team members.
  • Communicate effectively and share own views in a clear, respectful and constructive manner.
  • Strive to meet or exceed objectives.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Strong experience in industrial maintenance environments.
  • Hands‑on experience with conveyor systems.
  • Experience using SAP for maintenance planning and work order management.
  • Welding and fabrication experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Technical degree in mechanical, electrical, or related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
  • 2–5 years of maintenance experience required.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Basic electrical maintenance skills required, 480 V AC/3/60 A plus.
  • Computer skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Self‑starter who can succeed with limited supervision.
  • Detail‑oriented with proven problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work in a dusty environment.
