Job Description
Summary/Objective
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities related to facility infrastructure (building and grounds), utilities, and production equipment. This role ensures operational efficiency, safety compliance, and equipment downtime through effective planning, supervision, and hands-on support. The ideal candidate brings strong technical (mechanical, electrical, troubleshooting) knowledge, leadership skills, and a practical, solutions-focused approach to plant maintenance.

- Lead and supervise a team of maintenance technicians, contractors, and support staff.
- Manage and improve the preventive maintenance program to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
- Coordinate maintenance support for production, engineering, and facility projects.
- Select and manage contractors for repair, installation, and facility improvement projects; oversee safety, quality, and schedule compliance.
- Monitor and maintain facility utilities such as power distribution, HVAC, and compressed air systems.
- Track energy usage and support utility budgeting efforts.
- Oversee the safe accumulation, storage, and transport of hazardous and non-hazardous waste in coordination with the EHS team.
- Ensure upkeep of plant grounds, parking areas, buildings, and office cleaning services.
- Support repair and upkeep of operational equipment such as scrubbers, forklifts, garage doors, and scales.
- Promote safety, compliance, and continuous improvement across all maintenance operations.
Competencies
- Strong leadership and capable of working with teams
- Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and facility safety regulations
- Hands-on technical experience with industrial mechanical and electrical systems
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics
- Strong organization, communication, and troubleshooting skills
- Proficient in project planning and contractor management
- Comfortable using maintenance tracking or CMMS systems
Supervisory Responsibility
As Maintenance Supervisor, you will assign and oversee daily tasks for maintenance, mechanical, and electrical personnel, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently. You’ll provide ongoing coaching, guidance, and performance feedback to support employee success. Additionally, you'll play a key role in team development by offering hands-on training and mentorship to build skills and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Work Environment
This position operates in a manufacturing environment with regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, forklift traffic, and vibration. The work environment may include loud noise levels and airborne particles. Duties are performed in both indoor and outdoor facility conditions, depending on operational needs.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, Exempt position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Some evenings and weekends will be required.
Travel
There is limited travel with this position to visit suppliers, customers, and other divisions of Webster.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability
- Experience managing contractors and maintenance projects
- Familiarity with industrial safety and compliance standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical training, certifications, or apprenticeship in a mechanical, electrical, or maintenance field
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial production environment
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices
- Proficiency with CAD software or engineering drawing tools
