Job summary

Commercial Metals Company in Summerville, SC is seeking a skilled Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team of technicians, manage scheduling and training, and ensure reliable plant operations. This role requires strong leadership, hands-on maintenance expertise, and a focus on safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on maintenance experience in an industrial setting.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
• Ability to read schematics, blueprints and technical manuals.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
• Minimum 5 years in maintenance with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience with automated manufacturing equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coach maintenance technicians, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
• Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for all plant equipment and facilities.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to minimize downtime.
• Maintain maintenance records, work orders, and equipment documentation.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve equipment issues.
• Recommend equipment upgrades, modifications, or process improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and safety programs.

What You’ll Do

• Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
• Experience with automated or computerized manufacturing equipment preferred

Your Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum of three (3) years of industrial maintenance experience OR a technical degree in a related field
