Job summary

Commercial Metals in Athens, AL seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician to develop and implement procedures ensuring equipment and facilities stay in top condition. The role includes troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, performing welding and repair work, and prioritizing maintenance tasks to minimize downtime.

Ideal candidates read technical manuals, work well independently, and are bilingual in English and Spanish.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Must work well independently with little direction.
• Welding and torch-cutting experience.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement maintenance procedures.
• Ensure that all equipment and facilities are in good working condition.
• Identify / troubleshoot electrical faults in equipment and building as well as mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic problems.
• Repair plant equipment (steel forms, machinery, and building).
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Proficiency with diagnostic, testing, welding, and hand tools.
• Strategic planner who can prioritize maintenance activities effectively.
