Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a seasoned Facilities Technician to maintain and repair building systems at our Fort Worth facility. You will lead a team, manage preventative maintenance programs, and ensure safe operation of plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems.

The role requires hands-on skills, strong safety awareness, and the ability to work independently or with a team in a fast-paced warehouse. Forklift certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years of general facilities, systems maintenance, and repair experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and/or experience considered.
• Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures from mild to moderate.
• Intermediate computer skills.
• Forklift training certification completed.
• English reading, writing, and verbal skills.
• Intermediate math skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot maintenance and service problems.
• Ability to read and follow manufacturer manuals.
• Ability to lift 21–50 pounds.
• Active forklift certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safe and efficient condition of the facility and equipment
• Train and develop a team of facilities specialists
• Perform or manage general maintenance and repairs in plumbing, carpentry, painting, mechanical, electrical, and custodial areas
• Execute and maintain preventative maintenance systems for the building and equipment
• Perform routine and long-term preventative maintenance to keep systems at optimum operating levels
• Collaborate with site management on routine inspections of equipment and systems
• Inspect, maintain, and repair the building and equipment
• Ensure daily operation of building and material handling equipment
• Maintain equipment and report problems
• Identify and correct safety hazards
• Ensure a safe work site during repairs and maintenance
• Identify problems or potential problems and propose solutions
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair facility equipment and furnishings
• Determine methods and priorities for work assignments
• Operate material handling equipment (forklifts, reach trucks, etc.)
• Operate common hand and power tools
• Follow forklift safety guidelines and prescribed methods
• Perform or assist with grounds maintenance
• Maintain warehouse and work-area organization and cleanliness

• Perform or manage general maintenance and simple repairs in plumbing, carpentry, painting, mechanical, electrical, and custodial areas


• Execute and maintain preventative maintenance systems for the building and equipment


• Perform routine and long-term preventative maintenance to keep systems at optimum operating levels


• Collaborate with site management on routine inspections of material handling equipment, heating and cooling systems, mechanical and electrical systems, and plumbing


• Inspect, maintain, and repair the building and equipment


• Ensure daily operation of building and material handling equipment


• Maintain equipment and report building or equipment problems


• Identify, report, and correct safety hazards


• Ensure a safe work site during repairs and maintenance


• Identify sources of problems and recommend resolutions


• Inspect, diagnose, and make emergency repairs to facility equipment and furnishings


• Determine methods and priorities for work assignments and repairs


• Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, sweeper scrubbers, scissor lifts, cherry pickers, and pallet jacks


• Operate common hand and power tools


• Follow Basic Safety Forklift Guidelines and prescribed work methods


• Perform or assist with grounds maintenance


• Maintain warehouse and work-area organization and cleanliness


• Comply with SOPs, corporate and site policies, safety rules, and OSHA/MSDS standards


• Perform other job‑related duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school Diploma or GED required


• 5+ years of general facilities, systems maintenance, and repair work experience and/or other training


• Equivalent combination of education and/or experience considered


• Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures ranging from mild to moderate during warmer and colder months


• Intermediate computer skills


• Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program


• English reading, writing, and verbal skills


• Intermediate math skills


• Professional reading and writing skills


• Ability to troubleshoot general maintenance and service problems


• Ability to read and follow manufacturer instruction manuals


• Ability to identify problems or potential problems and take initiative to correct them
