Job description

Tate's Bake Shop is looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to join their growing team in East Moriches, NY. In the Maintenance Supervisor role, you will support our Production Lines with a goal to achieve zero breakdowns and ensure efficient maintenance costs. The Maintenance Supervisor will be key in this objective by coordinating planned corrective, preventive and predictive maintenance activities through the technical development of the maintenance and operation teams of the production lines that you will supervise.

This role will focus on loss eradication (breakdown) and implementation of line E2E (End to End) reliability using all progressive maintenance pillar tools, maintenance and CBM (condition-based monitoring) technologies, leadership in maintenance, repairs and operations/spare parts, utilization of the maintenance module and skills development.

To define success, we will use key metrics such as injury rate, GE (equipment reliability), MTBF (mean time between failures), %TBM/CBM completed, and fixed cost management (spare parts, contracted services, emergency purchases, labor).

  • Strong operational & manufacturing leadership preferably with experience in the food manufacturing industry with experience in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), 5S, Integrated Lean 6 Sigma's tools and concepts.
  • Proven PM (Progressive Maintenance) expertise, including Planned Maintenance, Root Cause analysis and Condition Based Maintenance
  • Strong financial & business acumen, project management skills, and knowledge of industrial maintenance and manufacturing equipment. Improving parts, parts management and purchasing are a plus.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Preventative Maintenance knowledge required.
  • Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations.
  • Excellent planning and leadership abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Physical requirements:
    • Constantly move about the plant.
    • Constantly position self to use various tools.
    • Frequently move parts and tools weighing up to 50 lbs.
    • Exposure to loud noise or extreme heat/cold.
    • Constantly communicate to management and operations team.
    • Ability to observe areas needing improvement and review procedures.
    • Exposure to chemicals and debris.
What should you bring?

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent technical degree within the food industry required.
  • 5 years or more experience in food manufacturing or related industries/processes is preferred.
  • 5 years Maintenance experience is required.
  • 3 years Proven leadership experience required.

Where will you work?

  • East Moriches, NY
  • Must be able to travel to in Shirley, NY and Southampton, NY.

What will your schedule look like?

  • Monday through Friday 6:30 am ' 3:00 pm.
  • Flexibility to work 2nd and 3rd shift as needed.
  • Occasional weekends.
