Job summary

Staff Management | SMX seeks a proactive Maintenance Supervisor for a direct-hire, 1st shift role in Energizer, Asheboro, NC. Lead 20–30 maintenance staff, supervise internal and external trades, and ensure preventive and corrective maintenance aligns with budget and MCIP standards.

• 2-year technical degree OR 2-4 years of suitable level of maintenance leadership in a manufacturing environment
• 2+ years of experience working in a manufacturing/industrial setting
• Knowledge and experience with Pneumatic valves, hydraulic systems, motors, control systems, and various sensing devices

Responsibilities

• Schedules and supervises internal maintenance craftspeople or outside contractors in the execution of preventive, predictive, corrective, project, and breakdown maintenance.
• Analyze equipment failures and ensure appropriate "permanent fix" is put in place.
• Utilize judgment to determine priorities for maintenance work requests and work with requestors and area managers to ensure work is planned appropriately.
• Identify, prioritize, and help coordinate or deliver maintenance training in their area of responsibility.
• Provide troubleshooting assistance to the maintenance skilled trades when needed.
• Audit maintenance work to ensure good practices are being maintained and standards are achieved.
• Review area maintenance costs and control them within budget allowance, and improve costs in their area in accordance with the MCIP program.
• Conduct maintenance employee appraisals and address maintenance performance issues.
• Supervise between 20 and 30 hourly or NE maintenance personnel.
• Candidate controls an area maintenance budget of $500K-$2.0M and affects property valued at approximately $10M -$15M
• Works closely with the Operations Supervisor and other Maintenance Supervisors
• Receive significant direction and training from the Maintenance Manager and/or Senior Maintenance Supervisor

Position Requirements:
