Job summary

Solesis is seeking a 1st Shift Maintenance Technician for a Monday-Friday 7:00 am–3:00 pm schedule in Winston-Salem, NC. The role focuses on maintaining manufacturing equipment and facility systems, performing PMs, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues, and ensuring compliance with GMP-like standards in an FDA-regulated environment.

The technician will work with a team to diagnose problems, update work orders, and maintain RO water systems and facility infrastructure.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–5 years maintenance experience preferred.
• Minimum 2 years electrical and mechanical knowledge/experience required.
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints/schematics and follow SOPs/WI’s in English.
• Ability to work rotating on-call schedule up to 1 week per month.
• Experience with automated manufacturing and quality systems a plus.

Responsibilities

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining company equipment and facilities. Technicians will maintain the equipment and facility through preventative maintenance (PM), root cause analysis, utilization of both internal and external resources, and follow through. The incumbent will troubleshoot, test, and diagnose electrical and mechanical equipment and malfunctioning machinery.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots electrical and mechanical manufacturing equipment issues using control knowledge, including programmable logic controllers (PLC) and three-phase.
• Methodically works through equipment/process issues to identify root cause of failure.
• Documents work performed and updates maintenance work order system.
• Tests and diagnoses malfunctioning machinery and collaborate with other maintenance technicians to develop and install proper repairs.
• Performs Preventive Maintenance (PM) per manufacturing specifications and schedules.
• Coordinates with maintenance team members on each shift to understand status of work orders and priorities.
• Diagnoses and replaces faulty electrical machine components such as relays, switches, and motors and positioning sensing devices, using machine schematics or PLC devices.
• Assists with maintaining daily operation of Reverse Osmosis (RO) water system.
• Maintains inventory of spare parts for the equipment and facility.
• Replaces air conditioner filters, damaged ceiling tiles, floor tiles and wall coverings.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Two to five years maintenance experience preferred.
• Minimum of two years electrical and mechanical knowledge and experience required.
• Ability to work a rotating on-call work schedule up to 1 week per month.
• HVAC experience preferred.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and schematics.
• Ability to comprehend and follow SOP’s, WI’s, policies, and procedures such as safety, quality, and HR written in English.
• Ability to effectively communicate with coworkers and management. Business communication is conducted in English.
• Possess basic mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Basic understanding of GMP and working within FDA regulated industries preferred.
• Basic computer skills including ability to use MS Outlook.
• Experience with automated manufacturing and quality systems.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to get along well with others and work in a team environment.
• Ability to properly complete paperwork as required according to work instructions, standards, or other specifications.
• Excellent dependability and reliability.
• Willingness to accept change, learn, and work with new processes.
• Familiarity with an ERP system and Quality Management System (eQMS) preferred.
• Must be able to work extended hours when required.
• Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
