Job Description:

The Maintenance Specialist is a 12-month full-time career serviceposition. This position is primarily assigned to the PensacolaCampus but may be assigned to work any of the campuses throughoutthe district. The Maintenance Specialist coordinates andparticipates in a variety of maintenance functions to include butnot limited to HVAC, electrical, and plumbing. Responsible forscheduled and unscheduled maintenance of assigned buildings andgrounds areas throughout the district. Provides security ofbuildings and the maintenance of necessary supplies and parts.Reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.

This position will work with climate control systems to assist indaily operations and scheduling events, troubleshoot, diagnose andrepair digital control systems and components, train and instructsupport staff personnel, and monitor work performance for accuracyand completeness to ensure compliance with established policies andprocedures. Responsible for knowing and conforming to all safetypractices and regulations that apply to this specific areaposition.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduation from high school or GEDequivalency and four years’ experience HVAC, electrical, orplumbing; and a valid driver’s license.
• Successful results of acriminal background check are required.
• Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibilityrequirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of §435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations.Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position.
• A FloridaDepartment of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition ofemployment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverseinformation contained in the background investigation at the timeof submitting the employment application will be disqualified fromemployment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Prefer experience in digitalcontrol systems, operation and repair, and residential splitpackage units from 1 to 10 tons.

SALARY RANGE:

$34,675.00 ($17.79/hour)
