Job summary

Memphis Recycling Services seeks a Shop Manager to lead the Maintenance/Container Shop, directing personnel, productivity, safety, and budget performance. This role ensures compliance with environmental regulations, safety protocols, SOPs, and company policies while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

You will oversee daily operations, supervise maintenance staff, enforce safety procedures, and manage parts and tools to keep operations running smoothly.

• Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
• Experience supervising full-time staff, including technicians and maintenance mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily maintenance shop activities and ensure adherence to standards.
• Lead, train, and support maintenance staff for high performance.
• Enforce safety and security procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
• Manage parts, tools, and supplies to keep operations running smoothly.
• Monitor systems, training, documentation and compliance measures.
• Review logs and production reports to ensure accuracy and adherence to requirements.
• Notify fleet management of deficiencies and support efficiency improvements.
• Conduct inspections, implement corrective actions, and deploy approved changes.
• Promote sustainability and cost awareness across teams.
• Contribute to budgeting, planning, and procedural updates.
• Maintain up-to-date contingency plans for emergencies.
• Teach and guide staff to make informed decisions within parameters.
