Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Department of Transportation is seeking a Maintenance Repairman 2 to help keep county facilities, equipment, and grounds operating safely and smoothly for the community. In this full-time role you will perform building maintenance, service electrical/plumbing/HVAC and fire safety systems, repair machinery, mow lawns, and assist with masonry and field support for crews.

Salary starts at $41,506 annually, with additional overtime as needed.

Qualifications

Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 or four years in building and plant maintenance with at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades.
Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

Building maintenance: maintain and repair county buildings, stockpiles, and facility structures.
System repairs: service electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and fire safety systems and identify follow-up work.
Equipment support: repair machinery, small engines, and assist diesel mechanics with major vehicle repairs.
Grounds care: mow lawns, clear snow, and perform exterior cleaning and upkeep tasks.
Construction tasks: create building forms and complete masonry work for walls, sidewalks, and related structures.
Crew assistance: deliver fuel, pick up parts, inspect fire extinguishers, and support storeroom tasks during winter.
