Job summary

Unilever is seeking an Associate Maintenance Manager in the United States to lead maintenance planning, reliability activities, and daily execution. You will guide planners and technicians, ensuring safe, efficient operations and continuous improvement of maintenance programs.

You will drive long-term asset health, coordinate with shifts, audit processes, and develop long-range plans with operations for optimized resource use. This role emphasizes teamwork, mentorship, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 2 year degree in a technical field and at least two years of experience as a maintenance supervisor/coordinator in fast paced manufacturing.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate and communicate with teams across a 24/7 schedule.
• Experience leading a team of maintenance technicians toward a common goal.
• Capable of working independently and in a team environment.
• Experience making reliability/maintenance decisions to meet needs; proven improvement ideas.
• Experience using a CMMS system.
• Controls/Automation experience with a preference for Allen Bradley controls.
• 4+ years of experience as maintenance supervisor/coordinator in fast paced manufacturing.
• Foods industry experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Continuously strive to increase the efficiency and reliability of equipment in their area of focus.
• Communicate with all shifts of the maintenance team to apply policies consistently.
• Support maintenance team in troubleshooting, procuring parts, or escalating issues.
• Audit depth of work order material and address gaps with planners.
• Ensure maintenance, quality and safety audits are carried out for compliance.
• Track breakdowns, root-cause issues, and implement countermeasures with planners.
• Review and develop long-term maintenance plans with input from managers and operations.
• Plan, procure and document activities with Supervisors and Operations to improve machines.
• Engage vendors and OEMs for technical support and complex troubleshooting.
• Participate in safety and quality reviews; implement corrective actions promptly.
• Support reliability-centered maintenance strategies, including predictive and preventive maintenance.
