HTI - Human Technologies, Inc. in Mount Gilead, North Carolina seeks a Maintenance Planning Manager to own maintenance planning, scheduling, SAP PM discipline, storeroom performance, and major shutdown readiness for a 24/7 continuous-process plant.

This role will lead seven employees and coordinate closely with maintenance, operations, engineering, procurement, safety, and contractors to improve PM quality, scheduling, and parts readiness while supporting extended shutdowns.

Qualifications

• 6-8 years of maintenance planning, reliability, or manufacturing maintenance experience with leadership exposure
• Hands-on CMMS systems and SAP Plant Maintenance experience including work orders, PMs, backlog, scheduling, closeout, and reporting
• Experience planning and leading extended shutdowns for large facilities with full-week downtime
• Experience improving PM quality, job-plan readiness, schedule compliance, technician utilization, backlog health, and KPIs
• Knowledge of MRO storeroom operations, inventory accuracy, and cost control
• Heavy continuous-process manufacturing background preferred
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, maintenance, operations or related field; PMP is a plus
• Ability to work in both office and plant environments, including evenings, weekends, and extended shutdowns

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and storeroom teams, set clear expectations and improve utilization and accountability
• Own day-to-day job planning, weekly scheduling, backlog management, down-day planning, and PM reporting
• Serve as site owner for SAP PM work-management discipline and data quality
• Review PM programs to identify gaps and establish useful performance metrics
• Improve technician utilization by ensuring labor, parts, tools, steps, contractors, and permits are ready
• Strengthen cycle counts, inventory accuracy, critical-spares strategy and readiness
• Lead long-range planning and execution for major weekly shutdowns with scope control and post-event review
• Partner with production and maintenance leadership to increase planned work and reduce reactive maintenance

This role will own maintenance planning, scheduling, SAP PM discipline, storeroom performance, and major shutdown readiness for a 24/7 continuous-process plant. The salary range is $120,000-$150,000, depending on experience, with 10%-15% annual bonus potential.

What You Need:

• 6-8 years of maintenance planning, reliability, or manufacturing maintenance experience, including 1-3 years of leadership experience
• Required hands-on experience with CMMS systems and SAP Plant Maintenance, including work orders, PMs, backlog, scheduling, closeout, and reporting
• Required experience planning and leading extended shutdowns in which a large facility is down for one or more full weeks and safely restarted; one- or two-day outages alone are not sufficient
• Experience improving PM quality, job-plan readiness, schedule compliance, technician utilization, backlog health, and maintenance KPIs
• Working knowledge of MRO storeroom operations, cycle counts, inventory accuracy, critical spares, kitting, staging, contractor coordination, and cost control
• Paper, pulp, MDF, particleboard, engineered wood, or another heavy continuous-process manufacturing background is strongly preferred
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, maintenance, operations, or a related field is preferred; PMP certification is a plus
• Ability to work in both office and plant environments and support evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended shutdown schedules when required

What Your Role Will Look Like:

The Maintenance Planning Manager will create stronger ownership and discipline around maintenance work management so maintenance leadership can remain focused on execution and equipment performance. This position will lead seven employees, including two maintenance planners and five storeroom team members, and will coordinate closely with maintenance, operations, engineering, procurement, safety, and contractors.

• Lead the planning and storeroom teams, establish clear expectations, and improve utilization and accountability
• Own day-to-day job planning, weekly scheduling, backlog management, down-day planning, and preventive-maintenance reporting
• Serve as the site owner for SAP Plant Maintenance work-management discipline and data quality
• Review the PM program to identify effective, poorly written, redundant, or missing PMs and establish useful performance metrics
• Improve technician utilization by ensuring labor, parts, tools, job steps, contractors, and permits are ready before scheduled work begins
• Strengthen cycle counts, inventory accuracy, critical-spares strategy, kitting, staging, and parts readiness
• Lead long-range planning and execution for major full-week shutdowns, including scope control, resources, sequencing, contractor coordination, safe restart, and post-event review
• Partner with production and maintenance leadership to increase planned work and reduce reactive maintenance in a single-line operation
