Insight Global is seeking a Manager of Maintenance Planning & Scheduling to lead plant-wide maintenance work management across multiple production value streams in a heavy industrial environment. This role is responsible for driving a proactive maintenance culture, improving schedule compliance, and ensuring all maintenance work is properly planned, prioritized, and executed safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of maintenance planners and schedulers supporting multiple value streams.
- Drive a proactive, data-driven maintenance culture focused on safety, reliability, and cost control.
- Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Reliability, and Storeroom teams to align maintenance priorities.
Planning & Work Management
- Oversee the full maintenance work lifecycle within CMMS (scope, plan, schedule, execute, close-out).
- Ensure all work orders are fully planned with labor, materials, tools, permits, and safety requirements.
- Maintain a healthy, well-prioritized backlog and ensure work is “shovel-ready” before scheduling.
Scheduling & Execution
- Develop and manage short- and long-term maintenance schedules.
- Balance internal resources and contractors across multiple teams.
- Drive schedule compliance and minimize reactive/emergency work.
Shutdowns & Turnarounds
- Lead planning and execution of major plant shutdowns and turnarounds.
- Develop detailed schedules, labor plans, contractor coordination, and execution timelines.
- Track performance and drive continuous improvement post-outage.
Reliability & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with reliability teams to strengthen PM/PdM programs and maintenance strategies.
- Analyze KPIs (schedule compliance, backlog, productivity, etc.) to identify gaps and improve performance.
- Drive initiatives focused on reliability, root cause analysis, and planned work optimization.
- Ensure consistent CMMS utilization, accurate work order data, and KPI reporting.
- Coordinate with purchasing/storeroom to ensure material readiness and effective inventory management.
- Enforce strict adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Maintenance, or related field preferred.
- 7–10+ years of maintenance experience in heavy industrial or manufacturing environments (metals, chemical, paper, etc.).
- 3–5+ years of leadership experience within maintenance planning, scheduling, or reliability.
- Experience leading shutdowns, turnarounds, or major maintenance projects.
- Strong experience with CMMS systems and maintenance work management processes.
- Knowledge of preventive/predictive maintenance and reliability best practices (SMRP preferred).
- Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.

Compensation
$120,000 to $150,000 per year annual salary. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
