Position Maintenance Planner & Scheduler

Location: Devens

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, On Site

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine the scope of work requests, clarify the originator's intent, and assign appropriate priority for effective resource deployment.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance/Metrology and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to plan general work strategies.
  • Plan all work ensuring equipment availability and that work orders have Materials, Labor, Special Tools, Safety Permits, etc., defined. Progress work orders through proper workflows.
  • Manage SR and create Work Orders related to planned work.
  • Plan Asset Management work with comprehensive plans including EHS permits, tools, parts/materials, before scheduling.
  • Develop general work strategies (e.g., repair or replace) and create Work Orders in the CMMS.
  • Evaluate current procedures and recommend changes to optimize maintenance and inventory programs.
  • Develop or revise SOPs or job/work plans for related areas.
  • Plan Major and Minor Site Outages to minimize operational impact.
  • Maintain communication with stakeholders regarding work execution timelines.
  • Manage maintenance workload to match manpower and equipment availability, avoiding manufacturing interruptions.
  • Analyze feedback from executed work orders to improve Job Plans and ensure prompt updates in CMMS.
  • Ensure Job Plans are current and include proper Preventive and Predictive Maintenance procedures.
  • Develop and review SOPs or work plans as needed.
  • Track planning metrics and KPIs.
  • Work collaboratively within a team environment, including Engineering functions.
  • Support Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders about planning activities.
  • Support non-conformance investigations, CAPA implementation, and compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Assist with NOEs, NTRs, QEs, and audit responses within established deadlines.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 4 years' experience in areas such as Clean Utilities Operations/Maintenance, Biopharmaceutical Process Equipment Maintenance, or related fields.
  • Experience managing contracts with external vendors for maintenance/metrology activities.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, complex environment.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Working knowledge of CMMS systems like Maximo, MP2, or similar.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management.
  • Project management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to perform well in team-based settings.
