Your Job

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a highly motivated Maintenance Planner to join our team at the Rome Lumber Mill. This critical role ensures efficient maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution-driving reliability and operational excellence. If you have a strong background in industrial maintenance and a keen eye for detail, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

What You Will Do

  • Work Order Management: Review, approve, prioritize, schedule, and close corrective work orders.
  • Preventative & Predictive Maintenance:Develop and modify maintenance tasks to improve equipment reliability.
  • Backlog & Scheduling:Analyze backlog data, conduct planning meetings, and input schedules into Microsoft programs.
  • Collaboration:Work closely with electrical, mechanical, and production teams to plan and execute jobs.
  • Resource Coordination: Identify and secure necessary parts, materials, rental equipment, and contractor support.
  • Procurement & Documentation:Submit requisitions, update Bills of Materials (BOMs), and develop Standard Maintenance Procedures (SMPs).
  • Contractor & Safety Compliance:Ensure contractors meet site safety requirements and receive purchase orders before arriving.
  • Job Execution & Follow-Up:Validate received parts, ensure job kitting, and review work orders post-completion.
  • Continuous Improvement:Lead or participate in reliability and efficiency projects.
  • Operational Support: Operate forklifts and other mobile equipment as needed.
  • Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all plant safety, environmental, and PPE policies.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a heavy industrial maintenance department
  • Strong understanding of mechanical components, including sprockets, sheaves, bushings, chains, belts, bearings, cylinders, pumps, and gearboxes
  • Proficiency in basic software programs and data entry

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Prior experience as a Maintenance Planner or in an industrial maintenance role
  • Experience using MP2 or other CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to improve maintenance workflows

For this role, we anticipate paying $85,000 - $105,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
