Job summary

DICK’S Sporting Goods is hiring a Maintenance Technician for our distribution center in New York. The role focuses on maintaining and repairing facility equipment and conveyors, following PM standards and safety practices.

You will troubleshoot PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, and related systems, while mentoring junior technicians and coordinating with vendors. Good reading of electrical drawings and safe work habits are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree required.
• 2-year vocational technical certificate preferred in mechanical or electrical applications.
• 3-5 years of experience in maintenance or similar roles.
• Welding, burning, cutting experience.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes and PLC controls.
• Familiar with DC-specific software (Crown PM, Gage) and equipment.
• Ability to read electrical/mechanical drawings/schematics.
• Good safety awareness.
• Able to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Experience with LOTO.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to OSHA safety standards including LOTO and safe work practices.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment and conveyors; follow PM standards.
• Document work performed in asset management system.
• Demonstrate expertise in PLCs, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes.
• Report spare parts inventory levels and usage to Maintenance leadership.
• Train junior technicians to raise performance.
• Collaborate with outside vendors to complete DC projects safely and timely.
• Take on other duties as needed to support the DC.
