Job summary

Behr Paint Company is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic to diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical issues on our production equipment, including conveyors and packaging machines. You will read work orders and schematics, operate a forklift, and follow safety protocols to minimize downtime.

You will perform preventative maintenance, lubrication, and cleaning on a schedule, while supporting facility needs such as plumbing and electrical tasks.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of on-the-job mechanical experience (hydraulic/pneumatic systems, gearboxes, conveyors)
• 2+ years electrical experience preferred (reading schematics; 24VDC–480VAC; PLC I/O)
• Understanding of and ability to use all Maintenance Shop tools (Hammer, Pliers, Screwdrivers, Drill Press, Hydraulic Press, Bench Grinder)
• Some knowledge of PLC systems is a huge plus
• Ability to operate a forklift safely (certification not required)
• Complete high school education (HS diploma or GED)

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot broken equipment to determine issue and repair or replace safely
• Perform preventive maintenance and lubrication according to schedules
• Repair facility systems (plumbing, electrical, cleaning, painting) as needed
• Manage multiple priorities to keep facility operating safely and efficiently
