Job summary

Lowe's is seeking an RDC Maintenance Mechanic I to keep conveyors, rolling stock and building systems in reliable operation. You will diagnose equipment issues, prioritize repairs, obtain spare parts, and perform safe, independent maintenance with a strong focus on preventing downtime.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, two years in the specialty area, basic electrical/electronic theory up to 600 volts, a valid driver’s license, and required local certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED General Studies or equivalent.
• 2 years of experience in specialty area.
• Combination of experience and/or technical training in electrical/electronic theory up to 600 volts (or willingness to obtain) within 1 year of employment.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• If required by local regulations, certified to perform work at Maintenance Mechanic level.

Responsibilities

• Maintains appropriate certification as required by state and local regulations.
• Determines safety precautions and requirements for task.
• Prepares worksite; performs lock-out/tag-out.
• Gathers tools and spare parts for task.
• Uses tools safely; checks condition of tools and PPE.
• Evaluates condition of equipment; determines spare parts and repair effort; plans work.
• Plans work and executes task; mentors Maintenance Utility.
• Seeks assistance from a more experienced mechanic when needed.
• Leaves worksite in good condition; documents work and parts.
• Enters data into 7I CMMS; closes out PMs and work orders.
• Informs next shift of remaining work; provides status of incomplete tasks.
