Job summary

Washington State University in Pullman, WA is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic 3 to maintain and repair dining facilities and related systems. You will lead maintenance staff, coordinate routine and emergency work, and ensure safe, efficient facility operations.

This is a full-time, permanent role with overtime eligibility.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma and four years of general work experience in building and equipment maintenance, construction or repair work or completion of a recognized apprenticeship in a skilled mechanic trade and one year of journey-level experience in building and equipment maintenance, construction, or repair work or equivalent education/experience.
  • Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver’s license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and perform routine and emergency maintenance and repairs on facilities, equipment, and systems within Student Affairs-operated dining facilities.
  • Provide technical expertise, guidance, and leadership to maintenance staff involved in the maintenance, operation, and alteration of dining facilities.
  • Ensure safe, efficient, and reliable facility operations.

The Opportunity:

As the Maintenance Mechanic 3 for Auxiliary Facilities Services, you will plan, coordinate, and perform routine and emergency maintenance and repairs on facilities, equipment, and systems within Student Affairs-operated dining facilities. You will provide technical expertise, guidance, and leadership to maintenance staff involved in the maintenance, operation, and alteration of dining facilities, helping to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable facility operations.

Additional Information

This is a full-time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.

Monthly Salary:

$5,506 to $6,384 | Range 51G | Steps G - M | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.

In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience working with pumps, motors and electrical.
  • Experience with building control systems.
  • Experience maintaining and repairing weight and cardio equipment.
