Job summary

Washington State University is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic 3 to plan and perform routine and emergency maintenance in Student Affairs-operated dining facilities in Pullman, WA. You will lead maintenance staff and ensure safe, reliable operations of facilities and systems.

The role requires a high school diploma or trade apprenticeship with journey-level experience, a valid driver's license, and a background check.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and four years of general work experience in building and equipment maintenance, construction or repair work; or completion of a recognized apprenticeship in a skilled mechanic trade and one year of journey-level experience.
• Must have or obtain by time of hire a valid driver’s license and meet driving standards.
• Preferred: experience with pumps, motors and electrical; building control systems; maintenance of weight and cardio equipment.

• Plan, coordinate, and perform routine and emergency maintenance and repairs on facilities, equipment, and systems.
• Provide technical guidance and leadership to maintenance staff involved in dining facilities maintenance.

Available Title(s): 626L-YN_CS_NPS - Maintenance Mechanic 3 Business Title: Maintenance Mechanic 3 Employee Type: Classified Position Details: The Opportunity: As the Maintenance Mechanic 3 for Auxiliary Facilities Services, you will plan, coordinate, and perform routine and emergency maintenance and repairs on facilities, equipment, and systems within Student Affairs-operated dining facilities. You will provide technical expertise, guidance, and leadership to maintenance staff involved in the maintenance, operation, and alteration of dining facilities, helping to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable facility operations.

Additional Information

This is a full-time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.

Monthly Salary: $5,506 to $6,384 | Range 51G | Steps G - M | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28. In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications

• High school graduation and four years of general work experience in building and equipment maintenance, construction or repair work or completion of a recognized apprenticeship in a skilled mechanic trade and one year of journey-level experience in building and equipment maintenance, construction, or repair work or equivalent education/experience.
• Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver’s license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with pumps, motors and electrical.
• Experience with building control systems.
• Experience maintaining and repairing weight and cardio equipment.
