Job summary

Quanex is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join our Sioux Falls, SD team. You will provide planned electrical and mechanical maintenance for all plant equipment, diagnose and repair systems, read blueprints, and troubleshoot PLCs to support uptime and safety.

Qualified candidates have an electrical/mechanical degree or 3–5 years of related experience; proficient in reading schematics and using shop tools and measuring equipment. Mon-Fri, 6:00 am–2:30 pm; pay $25/hour.

Qualifications

• Electrical/Mechanical degree or 3-5 years related work experience.
• Prior mechanical and electrical maintenance experience.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend written instructions and schematics.
• Knowledge and ability to use machine shop tools and measuring equipment.
• Ability to understand and use electrical measuring tools.
• Excellent understanding of safety and OSHA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide planned electrical/mechanical preventive maintenance on all plant equipment.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair plant equipment (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic).
• Read blueprints and schematics to determine procedures; troubleshoot PLC programs.
• Maintain housekeeping and 5S in assigned areas for a safe, clean workspace.
• Follow safety policies and contribute to safety programs as needed.
• Communicate repairs clearly including parts, cost, downtime, and ETA.
• Maintain records of production equipment.
• Assist with new equipment design and implementation.
• Occasionally assist with machining, welding and component assembly.

Quanex is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic tojoin our team located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

This position will be providing maintenance of the facility and equipment, for optimal performance to ensure goals and targets of the company are met.

Typical Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:00 am-2:30 pm.

What Success Looks Like:

• Provide planned electrical/mechanical preventive maintenance and on all plant equipment

Your Credentials:

• Electrical/Mechanical degree or 3-5 years of related work experience
• Prior mechanical and electrical maintenance experience and knowledge
• Ability to read, write and comprehend written instructions and schematics
• Knowledge and ability to use machine shop tools and measuring equipment.
• Ability to understand and use electrical measuring tools.
• Excellent understand of your responsibilities regarding safety and OSHA

The rate of pay for this position is $25/hour, commensurate with experience.
