Position Summary

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for repair and service work in the facility, adhering to standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities

• Painting, plastering, and masonry of interior/exterior surfaces.
• Plumbing repairs (excluding boiler-related issues).
• Light electrical repairs and installations.
• Appliance, machinery, lock installation, and office furniture repair.
• Carpentry refurbishing and repair.
• Coordinate with NYC DOH and contractors for maintenance and repairs.
• Assist with incidental facility and custodial jobs.
• Support custodial staff during emergencies.
• Manage equipment, materials, and supplies.
• Secure tools and equipment daily.
• Maintain grounds, remove debris, snow, and ice.
• Remove trash and hazardous waste.
• Transport heavy items as needed.
• Maintain offices and patient care areas.
• Open and close the facility as required.
• Perform other maintenance duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• At least 5 years of experience in electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.

Compensation & Benefits

Includes a comprehensive benefits package and eligibility for the National Health Service Corps Loan Forgiveness Program. Salary is commensurate with experience.
