Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking a maintenance technician to repair, install, and maintain building HVAC/R, plumbing and electrical systems across Michigan facilities. The role requires troubleshooting electrical and mechanical equipment and performing preventive maintenance under general supervision.

Responsibilities include conducting research, interpreting technical data, and maintaining compliant work records for regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of related experience.
• Valid state driver's license.
• Driving record must be within the approved insurance company’s regulations.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots electrical, electronic (analog and digital), pneumatic, and mechanical equipment and systems.
• Performs operator and preventive maintenance on equipment and systems including electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical; varies preventive maintenance intervals dictated by monitored failure rate.
• Researches, interprets, and applies local, as well as manufacturer’s technical data and drawings.
• Maintains proper work records for compliance with requirements imposed by entities such as The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, State-wide Health Care Planning and Development Office, and National Fire Protection Agency.
• Completes work orders, records materials utilized on jobs and other required documentation.
• May also perform general maintenance and repair tasks as required.
• Performs other related duties as required and directed.

Under general supervision, repairs, installs, adjusts,monitors, and maintains building HVAC/R, plumbing and electrical systems andperforms skilled maintenance and repair tasks of the hospital building systems.Performs work to conform to quality standards and municipal codes.
