Job summary

OmniSource in Johnson City, TN, seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician to keep production equipment and facilities running efficiently. You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot complex malfunctions, and respond to emergencies with a strong emphasis on safety and reliability.

The role requires proficiency with schematics, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and welding. You will operate maintenance vehicles and contribute to a culture of safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret schematics, hydraulics and pneumatics diagrams.
• Extensive experience with three-phase and single-phase electrical repairs.
• Proficient welding and fabrication skills including arc welding (sticks and MIG).
• Capable of operating maintenance vehicles and equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on stationary and mobile equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and respond to emergencies.
• Assist with installation of utilities and equipment and perform facility repairs.
• Comply with all safety requirements and company policies.
• Recognize and report potential safety hazards and maintenance issues.
• All other duties as assigned by supervision.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas and document maintenance actions.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on stationary and mobile equipment malfunctions.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
• React to emergency breakdowns.
• Perform needed facility repairs.
• Assist with installation of utilities and equipment.
• Comply with all safety requirements.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Proficient in comprehending schematics, hydraulics, and pneumatic diagrams, mechanical blueprints, welding, and fabricating skills.
• Must be able to operate maintenance vehicles and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Extensive experience in three phase and single phase electrical repairs.
• Must be able to perform advanced electrical repairs.
• Must be able to arc weld with stick and mig abilities.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs without direct supervision.
• Must have working understanding of programmable logistic controllers.
