Job summary

OmniSource is seeking a motivated Maintenance Mechanic to perform preventative and corrective maintenance on industrial equipment. You will troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, repair breakdowns, assist with installations, and maintain a safe work environment.

The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, ability to work independently or in a team, and adherence to safety standards. Schedule typically runs 6:00 am–4:00 pm, with potential weekend work.

Qualifications

We are seeking a motivated and safety-focusedMaintenance Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance on a variety of stationary and mobile equipment to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations. You will troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, respond to equipment breakdowns, assist with equipment installations, and perform general facility maintenance and repairs. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, experience working with industrial equipment, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment while adhering to all safety standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

What You Will Do

• • Innovative Problem-Solving: Proficient in interpreting schematics, hydraulics, and pneumatic diagrams, as well as mechanical blueprints. Bring innovative solutions to maintenance challenges.
  • Advanced Skills: Skilled in welding and fabricating, utilizing cutting-edge technology to optimize maintenance processes.
  • Efficient Operations: Ability to operate maintenance vehicles and equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring smooth operations throughout the shift.
  • Electrical Expertise: Extensive experience in three-phase and single-phase electrical repairs, including advanced troubleshooting and arc welding with stick and MIG abilities.
  • Independent Troubleshooting: Capability to independently troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs using innovative problem-solving techniques.
  • Technological Proficiency: Working understanding of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to optimize equipment performance and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with a proven track record of innovation and creativity in maintenance solutions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and environments.
• Ability to stand, bend, and crouch for extended periods.

NICE TO HAVES:

• Prior industrial multi-craft maintenance experience.

Schedule:

• Typically works Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm, Weekends when needed.
