Job description

The Maintenance Mechanic will supervise a thorough preventative maintenance program, ensuring the timely repair of malfunctioning equipment. Maintain accurate records of parts and labor required for each piece of equipment, oversee the procurement of necessary parts, and communicate any equipment-related issues or maintenance needs to the immediate supervisor. Will manage the scheduling and execution of repair tasks to ensure efficient and effective resolution.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical defects/failures in various maintenance equipment including (but not limited to) diesel, gasoline, and electrically powered equipment.
• Instruct and/or assist in training workers regarding preventative maintenance and the proper cleaning of and safe operation of equipment.
• Prioritize equipment repair and maintenance work.
• Maintain a preventative maintenance program with budget on all equipment and purchase replacement parts and supplies.
• Keep a complete set of records for equipment servicing, condition, and repair costs.
• Spot check equipment for performance on the course; frequently make emergency repairs on the course and service equipment prior to use.
• Oversee the shop area and related storage facilities.
• Regulate employees’ use of equipment in the absence of the Chief Engineer, if needed, and perform other duties as directed by the Superintendent.
• Other duties as assigned by the leader.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 months mechanic or small engine experience.

Licenses/Certifications

• Technical licenses such as HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, etc., are preferred.
