Job Description

Position: Maintenance Mechanic

Primary Location: Cairo, Ohio

Schedule: day shift, M-F

Reports to: Maintenance Manager

Compensation: $30-$40/hour (depending on experience)

Hourly rates are determined by role, level, and location. The hourly rate displayed on each job posting reflects the starting rate for new hires for the position. Rates may also be determined by work location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. More specific rate factors for your preferred location can be discussed during the hiring process, as some facilities are subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements. About This Role and You

Maintenance Mechanics at our Cairo, OH UltraPure sulfuric acid production facility are part of a team that meets the needs for producing highly specialized materials supporting a rapidly growing semiconductor manufacturing industry that will be highly dynamic over the next decade.

In the Maintenance Mechanic role, you will be responsible for safely maintaining, repairing, or rebuilding equipment in a chemical plant environment. You will also be responsible for routine maintenance and repairs of buildings and grounds. All work is to be done safely and in accordance with site procedures.

Qualifications

3-5 years of relevant experience in oil & gas or chemical processing industries
• Experience in pump repair and replacement, piping installation, and equipment rigging
• Working knowledge of safe work, confined space, lock out/tag out, and hot work permitting processes
• Experienced in turnaround support and planned outages
• Ability to read and interpret P&ID's and piping isometric drawings
• Ability to us computer software including Microsoft Office
• Able to use maintenance management software (INFOR, MP2, SAP)
• Ability to work off-shift due to emergency call out, including weekends and holidays. On average 3-5 call outs per year.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Welding certification a plus
• Teflon-lined pipe repair experience a plus

Medical Requirement

Physical Demands/Work Environment

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job: Employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision. Must be physically capable of spending long hours outdoors and occasionally work in protected clothing and equipment. Ability to climb stairs and ladders (including vertical).

Responsibilities

• Perform pump repair and shaft alignment
• Perform transmission coupling and sheave alignment
• Install or replace piping, fittings, valves, strainers, and process gauges
• Perform line breaks and piping removals
• Review and respond to vibration monitoring alarms
• Perform metal cutting and welding as needed
• Operate forklift and skid loader as needed
• General plant upkeep and maintenance
• Assist with maintaining warehouse and list of critical spare parts
• Climb stairs, ladders, scaffold and use fall protection equipment
• Use enhanced Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and respirators
• Complete all work instructions (work orders) and forms relating to maintenance, safety, and preventive maintenance while observing all safety operating procedures.
