Job summary

Balfour Beatty Communities is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead a team of maintenance technicians and grounds staff across residential properties. You will ensure quality workmanship, customer service, and regulatory compliance while managing work orders and safety programs.

The role emphasizes overseeing multiple trades, coordinating with environmental and safety teams, and driving performance metrics.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• College courses or technical training with trade certifications/licenses preferred.
• Minimum of three years of property management or maintenance operations experience.
• Minimum of one year of supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Experience with OSHA safety requirements is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; Yardi experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations, financial reporting, inventory control and procurement for an assigned maintenance team.
• Direct grounds and landscaping teams to maintain curb appeal and property standards.
• Supervise maintenance work across trades (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.).
• Train and coach staff on safety practices and PPE usage.
• Assign and track work orders to meet response times and quality standards.
• Coordinate with environmental and safety teams for compliant work orders and reporting.
