Job summary

IPG is seeking a Maintenance Manager/Superintendent to lead the Maintenance Department at its Blythewood, SC plant. This exempt, salaried role oversees all maintenance activities, supports capital projects, and ensures cost-effective repairs within schedule constraints.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years in equipment maintenance in manufacturing, strong supervision, and CMMS experience. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and proactive maintenance practices.

Qualifications

• High School or technical school graduate.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in equipment maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
• Extensive knowledge of the methods, practices, techniques, tools, equipment and materials used in plant maintenance and repair.
• Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of supervision.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Ability to read and understand plans and blueprints.
• Thorough knowledge of maintenance reliability.
• Must have expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software, e.g., word processing, email and spreadsheets.
• Must have ability to work effectively with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe work practices and work environment.
• Accountable for maintenance reliability excellence program.
• Accountable for the preventive maintenance program, and maintenance of production equipment and facilities.
• Develop, maintain and administer an organization qualified to maintain all equipment and facilities in a safe and efficient working condition.
• Plan and provide for an adequate supply and ensure control over spare parts and maintenance supplies.
• Set work priorities and objectives and assure that employees meet or exceed them.
• Review and approve Maintenance Supervisor recommendations for the purchase of tools, material and supplies.
• Plan and install maintenance capital projects.
• Ensures that maintenance safety practices and procedures are followed.
