Job summary

Pacific Seafood in Kodiak, Alaska, seeks a Maintenance Manager I to lead the maintenance team, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and efficient operations across refrigeration, boilers, electrical and mechanical systems.

The role focuses on supervising technicians, developing preventive maintenance plans, managing CMMS, coordinating with contractors, and supporting multiple processing plants as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic electrical systems.
• 3+ years experience managing and directing a team of technicians in preventative maintenance, repair, operations, and safety.
• Ability to manage and execute minor engineering projects and installations such as refrigeration systems, pumps, conveyor systems, boilers, etc.
• 5+ years of industrial maintenance in manufacturing, food processing or seafood processing.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work within time constraints.
• Proficiency in basic math and ability to read and write clear correspondence.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and direct maintenance team.
• Direct cohesive, proactive maintenance strategy across Processing Operating Group.
• Continuously improve maintenance processes and prevent failures.
• Maintain safety and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee CMMS for work orders and equipment tracking.
• Coordinate third-party refrigeration work and installations.
• Develop and manage the maintenance department budget.
• Arrange weekend or after-hours on-call coverage.
• Foster communication with operators, supervisors, and managers.
• Travel to other plants for support and training.
