Definition: Under general direction of the Operations Superintendent or Supervisor, serves as a lead worker over a small crew of maintenance workers involved in the maintenance and repair of streets and facilities, or as a specialist in the Operations Division repair and maintenance of equipment.This classification is distinguished from the Maintenance Lead worker by its diversity and complexity of services provided.

Mental and Physical Abilities: Mental work efforts involve interpretation and application of internal rules, policies, procedures, and guidelines requiring independent decisions and assuming responsibility which could impact the City=s maintenance program. Physical requirements include the ability to walk on uneven surfaces at construction sites, ability to move moderate (25-50 lbs) materials on occasion, and the ability to bend, stoop and perform physical labor daily.
Working Conditions: Work involves exposure to adverse weather, loud noises, heavy equipment and moving mechanical parts.
QualificationsQualifications: High School diploma and three (3) years of street or facility maintenance and repair work. An equivalent combination of education and experience which indicates possession of the knowledge, skills and other characteristics may be substituted for the above qualifications.
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
